F.A.I.R. Attends the 2004 DAN! Conference
in Los Angeles, California

On September 30th through October 4th, FAIR Autism Media attended this year's DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) conference, held at the Westin Los Angeles Airport Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

Attending as a member of the press, FAIR's Administrative Director, Erik Nanstiel, its Research Director, Julie Duffield and Nancy Nanstiel (Erik's wife and FAIR's Administrative Assistant) filmed portions of the conference as well as interviews with a dozen of its speakers, including two mothers who had brought their children that have recovered from Autism. The footage we have collected will appear in FAIR's first feature documentary, "Autism: Anatomy of an Epidemic."

Throughout our experience at this year's DAN!, we had the opportunity to connect with some of the most wonderful people and healthcare professionals that we have ever met. Everyone of them had a lot to share and a lot to teach. Their warmth and their diligence in the struggle to cure and prevent Autism both humbles and inspires us all.

In a short while, we'll be posting selected video clips of several of the interviews we shot so that our visitors can see and hear some of what we've learned (and will soon present in our documentary).

Uninformed Consent is a nonprofit organization that creates educational films on the dangers of mercury poisoning.

Nancy Nanstiel poses with Screen Actor Lou Diamond Phillips. Phillips spoke at the conference to introduce the attending families who had brought their recovered autistic children (many of whom had successfully followed the DAN! protocol.)

Phillips also stars in an upcoming movie where he portrays a man with Asperger's syndrome.
